CATE Principles
We believe that students and society will benefit from access to coursework and programs that provide a thorough understanding of American ideals, institutions, and traditions. Students develop critical thinking skills and are grounded in the core values and ethical principles on which our country is founded.
We will work to foster the establishment of coursework focusing on Western civilization and American traditions, and programs to effectively facilitate the coursework in Texas colleges and universities.
We propose that the Legislature study the value and benefits to college and university students of offering coursework emphasizing ethics, Western civilization and American traditions, and the value of establishing programs or centers to foster the development of the coursework.
